I have recently updated and expanded a paper that my father, William Nisbet Ross (1924-2000), created in the late 1990’s. The paper contains most of what we know about my great great grandfather, Alexander Ross (1819-1885) and his children. It also contains the 1882 Alexander Ross Letter which is described below. The 1882 Letter of Alexander Ross
This important document has been handed down through five generations of Rosses. In it, Alexander writes to his son George in Providence, RI and sets down a lengthy description of his ancestry. It provides many clues that have helped flesh out our family tree. The pdf transcription of the letter can be found HERE.
